Metrobank extends banking hours
CEBU, Philippines - To meet the clients’ demands and improve its service towards its Cebu-based customers, Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank) commits itself to banking hour extension and opening of new branches in Cebu City.
Metrobank Cebu Mambaling Branch Head Armand dela Cruz said that unlike in the past when the bank can only accept transactions until three o’clock in the afternoon, it has already extended its normal operations on Mondays to Fridays from 9 PM to 4 PM and on Saturdays from 11 AM to 3 PM effective last March of this year.
He added that the one-hour extension during weekdays and the Saturday banking operations signify their dedication to serve their clients better and properly respond to their feedbacks at the same time.
Aside from the extension of the banking hours, he further said that Metrobank has just recently opened its Danao City branch last June 5, to reach out to the city-based customers.
He noted that the 36th branch in Cebu also operates the same with other branches in the province and observes the banking hour extension and Saturday banking.
Moreover, Dela Cruz revealed that apart from the branch in the northern part of Cebu, another branch is soon to open in Carcar.
Although there is no tentative schedule yet, he said that the construction has already started and could possibly open within the third quarter of 2012.
“Daghan ang clients nato sa Cebu. And we are very happy to hear positive comments from customers about the branches being open on Saturdays and its extension hours. We continue to serve them better as one of the strongest banks in Asia,” he told The Freeman.
Meanwhile, Metrobank recently reported a consolidated net income of P4.3 billion for the first quarter of 2012, representing a 40% increase over the P3.1 billion earned in the same period last year. Its pre-provision operating profit rose by 60% to P7.7 billion from P4.8 billion previously.
The healthy growth in core revenues and the robust increase in treasury and investment activities have been considered as one of the significant attributes towards the strong performance of the bank.
It has an extensive consolidated network with 800 branches and 1,624 automated teller machines (ATMs) nationwide, and 39 foreign branches, subsidiaries and representative offices.
The bank offers products and services for business, investment and personal purposes which particularly include car and housing loans, checking and savings accounts, credit cards and internet and mobile banking. — (FREEMAN)
