CEBU, Philippines - Going beyond virtualization and maximizing the power of cloud computing, Microsoft Philippines introduced its latest development and management solutions in its server and cloud infrastructure technologies during the Summit Server Cebu held at Marriott Hotel.
Microsoft Philippines Server and Tools Business Group Lead Joel Garcia said that with the consumerization of information and technology, clients should take advantage of such opportunity to enhance productivity and growth of their businesses.
The company recently launched the SQL Server 2012 in which customers approach cloud opportunities on their own terms and System Center 2012 which is believed to be the answer to managing IT environments.
Garcia said that hosting the summit in Cebu enables the company to demonstrate to Cebu how these innovations in management solution can help them in delivering IT as a service, thus becoming more reactive to the needs of the users.
He also cited that the Microsoft Server 2008 R2 with Hyper Visor provides a foundational virtualization platform that enables the transition to the cloud which users ought to know that they have to switch it on without having a separate virtualization since it is already built in the package.
He added that innovations in the data center help a certain company in serving internal and external customers better and inspiring operational efficiency to take the business to the next level.
“You have to deliver the right information at the right time and at the right place. One must understand how IT can transform a business and it entails agility, focus and economics. Cloud computing is changing the business. These innovations are the solutions for today and the future. At the end of the day, it’s what you run,” Garcia said.
He further said that business intelligence remains crucial for up-and-coming innovators and competitive businesses including the micro, small and medium enterprises, encouraging them to start with the basics of infrastructure management to leverage their capacities in technology.
“We want the market to be educated that virtualization is an enabling technology and management is the key. It is not the adaption to technology but the delivery of service. Things are done faster and it makes you snappy to do business. Progression starts at the basics for you to produce more,” he stated. — (FREEMAN)
