Dental clinic gets ISO accreditation

- Grace Melanie L. Lacamiento -

CEBU, Philippines - Aiming to be a world-class dental center based in the Philippines and the first dental clinic in the country to be certified for International Organization Standardization (ISO) in the country, Green Apple Dental files for ISO accreditation with the assistance of AGF Consulting Group, a quality management systems company.

Dr. Gamaliel Urbi, DDM, Vice President for External Affairs of Green Apple, said that it’s about time to raise the bar and elevate the standards of the medical practice in the Philippines, enabling the country to compete with Asian counterparts.

With the dedication and excellence of Filipinos in their field, he noted that what the country needs to make use of that advantage is a world-class facility to cater the local and global market. Proud to be exclusive in providing bright smiles, he added, such professional responsibility helps aspiring medical professionals to be globally competitive, improving the quality of dental services.

“We all have the advantages. Why do we need to export our medical workers? No matter how we teach dentists to a greater level, it is difficult if there is no role model. It’s time to make a difference,” Urbi stated.

Green Apple Dental Chief Executive Officer Dr. David Alesna, DDM, said that filing for ISO is merely an affirmation of their commitment to excellence and quality service and it has always been their vision to be the first ISO-certified dental facility in the Philippines by 2013.

“I am confident, with AGF, that we will be ISO accredited on the first quarter of next year. The ISO registration is already God-given. Everything is falling into place. I believe it will really happen,” he said during the blessing and inauguration of Green Apple Dental located along the Wellness Area at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.

Citing that one of the major problems in the medical industry of the country is its health facilities, Alesna said that the P3-4 M new facility of Green Apple offers expanded and upgraded equipment to best serve the demands of local and international standards and to extensively support the Philippine medical tourism.

Embedded with the core values of integrity and excellence, according to him, the welcoming ambience and caring dental staff are just the natural personalities of Filipinos and is evident in the company’s manpower.

With its other existing branches at Trinoma Mall, Quezon City and Ayala Abreeza Mall, Davao City, Alesna said that by October, another facility will be constructed in the proposed Ayala Centrio in Cagayan de Oro.

Meanwhile, AGF Consulting Group - Philippines Chief Executive Officer Jong Fernandez Jr. said that ISO certification process for Green Apple will have four phases that will be completed within 6 months covering the entire processes of the dental clinic.

Serving as a milestone for the dental industry, he noted that with such certification, it will be a great equalizer internationally for the dental company since they are competing in an open market, at the same time giving them the leaps and bounds for domestic competition.  (FREEMAN)
