Accounting firm opens Cebu branch with bullish optimism
CEBU, Philippines - Just less than two years since starting operations, Reyes Tacandong and Company has made it to the top five accounting, auditing and advisory firms in the country.
With this, after starting operations in Manila last June 2010 and branching out in Davao in September of the same year, the company has now opened in Cebu.
During the formal launching of their office at the 7th floor of FGU building in Mindanao Avenue, Cebu Business Park, two of the founding partners of the firm shared how optimistic they are of their Cebu operations.
Protacio Cocoy Tacandong, Chief Operating officer of RT&Co. said that they see a great market in Cebu because there is a big number of untapped market.
Tacandong said that the boom of new companies in Cebu is also a great time for them to start their services here.
Roman Felipe Reyes, chairman of RT&Co. said that they started their services because they saw that there was no alternative or options for clients to choose from in terms of auditing and accounting services.
The two officers of the RT&Co. were previously partners in Sycip and Velayo & Co. before they left in 2009, when they decided to start their own firm along with 10 others.
They said that they started operations in Manila, where 80 percent of their business is at, because the revenue is there.
They also saw a great need for services like theirs in Davao and now in Cebu where they are bullish on the acceptance of the market.
Reyes said that they are the underdogs in the industry but this has not been a problem for them because they see themselves as the “new old firm,” considering that the experience of all the partners totals to 300 years.
“We didn’t expect that our growth would be this phenomenal. We were all surprised of the support of the business community, it was something amazing.”
Both shared that after starting off with 10 partners, they now have a total of 350 staff members.
This has grown because of the increasing support they are getting from clients who have been very satisfied of their services and have recommended them to more companies, big and small.
Reyes said that they identify themselves as a company that will always remain truly Filipino and would serve and take care of their customers in a personalized way.
After the global economy crisis that impacted the country in 2009, RT&Co. said that they aim now to “help the Philippines redeem its past glorious days.” (FREEMAN)
