Heavy rains
When the heavy rains fall, it would be best to get off the road and park some place safe. Unfortunately, we don’t always get the chance to find a safe place to park when the heavy rains fall while were on the road.
Several times the past few weeks, we happened to be on the road when the rains fell and saw how the flooded streets wrought havoc on the traffic as many vehicles were also stalled.
If you can’t stop someplace safe, make sure that you turn on your vehicle’s headlights, which don’t really help you see the road ahead, but helps others on the road see you.
Drive only on roads that you are familiar with, but if you are somewhere that you are not sure where the areas that gets flooded are try to follow the vehicles ahead of you.
Slow down. That should not take too much explanation.
Of course, before leaving the house or before you drive off, do the needed checks on your vehicle.
The weather doesn’t only make us sick. It could also cost us our lives if we are not concerned about safety on the road.

As always, after the rains our roads also become lunar. Lunar because of all the craters that come out that makes the road surfaces appear like the moon.
The city has announced a road asphalting project, dubbed as the Asphalt Storm to repair the streets that are damaged.
At the rate the rains are washing away the asphalt we need a much bigger budget and faster work to repair the damage.

It has been announced that the authorities will stop apprehending the drivers of new vehicles that don’t have their license plates yet.
It is not the fault of the owners of the vehicles if some government agencies can’t work on the papers very fast. Why punish the drivers and embarrass them on the road?
There are many more important traffic laws that need to be implemented, but we are wondering how come the authorities were keener on new vehicles.
From what we know, these vehicles are not released by the dealers unless they have insurance and the registration fees have been paid.

If the authorities want to rid the streets of unregistered vehicles, they can start with the government vehicles as we noticed that many don’t seem to have the current registration stickers on their plate numbers.
Many also appear that they would not pass the motor vehicle inspection due to their dilapidated state.
We can all have a better place to live in, if the people in authority would know to prioritize what ought to be done.
