Globe braces for the holiday surge of calls, text message

CEBU, Philippines - Globe Telecom announced its readiness to serve the usual surge of calls and text messages experienced during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

In a statement, the company said it has taken steps to ensure that its subscribers will continue to enjoy its products and services through its reliable network service.

Globe postpaid subscribers will continue to enjoy the unlimited offers that are available through “My Fully Loaded Plan” and “My Super Plan,” including DOU and Super Dou services.

The Ayala-led telecom firm added that to easily get in touch with Filipinos abroad, Globe is extending its IDD Sakto calls promo unit December 31.

Under the promo, Globe and TM (Touch Mobile) subscribers can enjoy the most affordable international call rates at P0.15 per second for calls to the United States, (including Hawaii), United Kingdom, Malaysia, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, Australia, Kuwait, Equatorial Guinea, and Saudi Arabia.

For its prepaid subscribers, all promotional offers of Globe and TM will run their course unit their promo duration.

However, there are selected prepaid promotional offers that are set to expire before Christmas, and these will be made available to subscribers staring January 4, 2011. These include the SuperUnli for seven days.

Existing Globe and TM prepaid promos for text like Unlitxt20, AstigTxt10, SuperAll Txt 20 and for voice like SuperCombo 20 and AstigCombo 20 for TM will be available until December 31, 2010.

“We want to give all our subscribers service quality at all times. During the holiday season when voice and text traffic are expectedly higher, we take the necessary measures to ensure that there is a balance between service quality and product availability for all types of subscribers, whether prepaid or postpaid,” said Froilan Castelo, head for corporate and legal services group of Globe Telecom.

“We want to make sure that we can accommodate the demand of the season even while we give our subscribers the best value services that they are enjoying now,” Castelo stressed.

With the introduction of Globe broadband services, Globe subscribers are also encourage to send in their greetings not only through voice and text, but also via the Internet as well using various social networking, to decongest the network.

“This is meant to provide quality Globe services during the holidays where consistent and reliable connection is very important to all our customers,” Castelo added. (FREEMAN)
