CEBU, Philippines – To keep up with the rising demand for memorial real estate properties, the Angelicum Garden of Angels recently announced to expand its memorial park facility in Canduman, Mandaue City.
Memorial park developer Acrissor Development Corporation led by Ricarido Delfin A. King will spend an estimated investment of P200 million to develop over one-hectare area inside the Angelicum Garden of Angels. The existing memorial park spans 7.5 hectares.
In an interview with King over the weekend, he said that the demand for family lot, which usually measures an average of 30 square-meters to 45 square-meters is now the buying trend for memorial park properties.
King said the expansion of Angelicum will focus on the demand for family memorial estate and will be designed uniquely, with some features that will be one of the firsts in the industry.
"We will be starting our expansion next year," King said in an interview Sunday.
After seven years since its inception and successfully providing the market with world-class memorial park facility offering affordable lots, this time King said the expansion will focus more on addressing the need for memorial family estate.
Angelicum Garden of Angels head for marketing group Jun S. Yu said that with the eight to 10 percent increase of assessment value of memorial properties, buyers are not only getting memorial lots for future use, but also largely for investment purposes.
Unlike in the past wherein investing in memorial plans and purchasing memorial estates was considered taboo, Yu said the market has changed and people have become aware of the reality.
He said death is a reality that people needs to prepare for. Investing in memorial lots, is no longer a strange investment option, in fact it is already considered as one of the priorities now.
Similar to housing needs, memorial lots have also become one of the priorities of most Filipino families, Yu said.
Although, the industry is not as vibrant as the residential and commercial sector, but its growth is sustaining, Yu said.
Because of the change of outlook in the market today, real estate sector in the memorial property industry has become "alive" now, the reason why the company has decided to expand the facility after seven years.
Nestled at the heart of Canduman, Mandaue City, Angelicum Garden of Angels serves the Cebuano community as a place of solace for families and visitors.
The company recently held its first "Family Day" for the brokers and sales agents to strengthen its partnership with its sellers. (FREEMAN)
