PLDT re-launches the Innovation Lab

CEBU, Philippines – Taking advantage of Cebu’s rich resources of technology innovators and sophisticated technology-savvy market, the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) re-launched its six-year-old Innovation Laboratory (Innolab).

PLDT’s Innolab re-opening indicated the company’s commitment to empower a growing list of regional clientele with the latest in technological advancements for busineses, said PLDT first vice-president and corporate business group head Nerisse Ramos.

The re-launched PLDT Cebu Innolab is a dynamic venue for developing and testing revolutionary ICT products and business solution. It also conducts technology seminars and workgroups.

Just like all PLDT Innolab across the country, the Cebu Innolab encourages innovation through partnerships with industry, academe, government institutions, and end-users.

“Clients appreciate the live demonstrations of PLDT products within Innolab, because it provides a more straightforward way for them to understand exactly what the service offers. We also innovate with our customers by allowing them to test and customize our services to come up with a solution that is truly tailor-fit for their business,’ said PLDT senior vice president and customer service and marketing group head Eric Alberto.

The facility, which was first set up in Cebu in 2004, has long been considered a breeding ground for new ideas and innovative business solutions.

“This suits the growing and changing demands in the region’s technological district,” said Ramos.

Among these is PLDT UNO, which unifies various means of enterprise communications through a single platform. It increases productivity by allowing users to be reached anytime, anywhere, and through any device.

Also, another is the AppFarm, a portfolio of cloud-based solutions that allows users to access services such as document management and web security over the Internet or a private network, eliminating the need to implement and manage hardware and software across organization.

SWUP Card All-Access is a mobile card payment solution that allows merchants to accept all credit and ATM debit cards anywhere in the country, for a low monthly fee and with no sales revenue commitments.
