DOST calls on inventors to join RICE competition
CEBU, Philippines - The Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is calling all inventors and researchers in the country to join the 2010 Regional Invention Contests and Exhibits (RICE), which will be held until September this year.
The event, which revolved on the theme “Filipino Inventions and Innovations: The Way Forward,” will feature the regional invention contest, invention fair and exhibit and other invention development activities to promote the commercialization of inventions and technologies, according to a statement.
The 2010 RICE serves as a venue to select regional winners, who will vie for the major awards during the National Invention contest in November, 2010, in the various categories such as invention, utility model, industrial design, creative research and student creative research.
Those interested may coordinate with their respective DOST regional offices, which will lead the conduct of this year’s RICE in cooperation with the different inventor organizations based in the different regions.
The Regional invention contest, a major highlight of the celebration, is open to both the public and private sector inventors and researchers. Entry forms may be downloaded from the host DOST Regional office website or at TAPI website: www.tapi.dost.gov.ph. (THE FREEMAN)
