Epson wants market share from the corporate world
CEBU, Philippines - After successfully penetrating the retail market in the Visayas, Epson Philippines Corp. (EPC) has set its eyes on conquering the corporate market, especially the small and medium size enterprises and small-office-home-office (SOHO ) in the area.
Eduardo Bonoan, EPC senior general manager, said the company aims to get much of its growth this year from the corporate market, which the company has not yet fully tapped.
He said on the sidelines of the opening of its sales office and solutions center last Thursday that EPC started to revisit its marketing strategies to focus more on the corporate market in the middle of last year. The company has started implementing the new strategy in Manila and recently in the Visayas through the newly opened center.
“This is one reason why we opened a sales office and solutions center here (in Cebu .) The office will be the venue where we will conduct seminars and product updates. Many (people connect Epson) with just printers. They are not aware that we also have other products (such as the scanner and the projector.)” Bonoan said.
During the launch, Eiji Ide, Epson South Asia and Southeast Asia managing director, said the Epson brand has been associated with the dot-matrix printers. However, the company has continued to provide more solutions for businesses.
“We now offer a wide portfolio of world-class digital imaging printers and projectors that can service the growing demands of customers and support Cebu ’s big and medium scale businesses in their goals,” he said.
Aside from its Micro Piezo technology that provides cost-savings and high standard in print quality used in its printers, Epson also uses the 3LCD technology, which holds the “global standard for the projectors and is also proven to be cost-effective and responsive toward the call for environmental consciousness.
EPC’s corporate presence in the country started in 1998. It has 72 authorized serve centers nationwide with more than 60 dealers and more than 400 shops across the country.
