NSO encourages public to avail services of accredited companies

CEBU, Philippines - The National Statistics Office (NSO) is encouraging the public to avail the services of NSO-accredited outsourcing companies in getting NSO certificates to avoid becoming victims of unscrupulous fixers.

Noel Rafols, NSO-7 Information Officer said clients are ensured that birth, marriage, death and CENOMAR (certificate of no marriage) processed by accredited companies such as Pilipinas Teleserv Inc. for the applications made through calls and e-census for online applications are the real NSO-authenticated ones.

“NSO and these companies have signed a memorandum of agreement for them to accept and process applications for NSO certificates,” Rafols said in an interview.

Rafols said information materials have been posted in their office to inform the public of their other options in procuring their authenticated NSO certificates.

Meanwhile, Teleserv director Raffy David said the company is celebrating its 10th year of serving the Filipinos this year. The company offers the NSO birth certificate delivery that allows phone-in application and processing of NSO authenticated birth, married, death and CENOMAR certificates through telephone number 737-1111.

He told The Freeman that Teleserv has been implementing some improvements in their product delivery in region 7. These have resulted in a processing time of one day to two days after payment to their partner institutions such as Metrobank, Bancnet automated teller machines and bayad centers of the applications.

Teleserv has also opened the web chat www.birthcertificate.com.ph, which has an agent assigned to assist queries of applicants. It has also opened an account in Facebook for further customer support.

“We (Teleserv) are proud that we are able to help NSO especially when it closed (here in Cebu). In the last 10 years, we have processed millions of transactions without a single fraudulent one,” David said.

NSO Birth Certificate Delivery is the largest government teleservices in the Philippines. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and has nationwide coverage for its door-to-door deliveries.

Teleserv is a provider of teleservices solutions and call center-based services. Aside from NSO, it is also a partner of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration in processing overseas exit clearance (OEC) of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) through the Balik-Manggagawa OEC delivery service online applications. OFWs need only to log in at www.oecdelivery.com.ph, fill in the online application and bring the necessary requirements to any 2Go branch.

“There is no more need to travel or line up. Express OEC processing maximizes every OFW’s time to enjoy their vacation with the family. With nationwide coverage, every OFW anywhere in the country is within fast reach,” David said.
