CEBU, Philippines - Information Technology security provider, Symantec Corporation recently introduced the Symantec Partner Program that intends to help businesses and its partner companies maximize sales opportunities and accelerate profitability.
This year, Symantec will offer partners additional opportunities for growth and provide them with solutions to solve customers’ complex business issues.
Under the enhanced program, which will go into effect at the end of this year, the company will put an increased focus on driving partner competence in the key solutions areas and providing partners with more resources, tools, incentives and sales support.
“Asia Pacific and Japan is a growing and diverse market. We are committed to working with our partners to help them build strong businesses selling Symantec solutions and services, providing them with opportunities to differentiate themselves in the market,” said Bernard Kwok, senior vice president, Asia Pacific and Japan, Symantec.
“We look forward to strengthening collaborations with out partners this year to best serve our mutual customers,” Kwok emphasized.
While Symantec partners will have a transition period to begin the process of achieving specializations that are relevant to their business, partners can begin to maximize the benefits of the new program structure by achieving Specializations today.
Symantec will be enhancing the Symantec Partner Program to put a greater emphasis on rewarding partner capabilities and competence. Specializations, which recognize partners with a proven expertise in a particular area of business, will become the cornerstone of the Symantec Partner Program.
Specializations provide partners with the skills and expertise required to deliver differentiated services to their customers. Partners achieve specializations by meeting certain requirements that will deepen their knowledge and proficiency in a solution family. In the Philippines, Symantec currently offers the following Specializations: Endpoint Management, SMB, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP), with more to come in the near future.
The Symantec Partner Program will continue with the existing partner levels, which include Registered, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Within the enhanced program, Specializations will become essential to attaining partner levels, and revenue requirements will be removed.

Ting, VP for Business Development of Nexus Technologies, Inc., one of Symantec’s partners in the Philippines, “The enhanced Symantec Partner Program, focusing on Specialization, is great as it rewards partners’ investment in Symantec and partners gain advantages in return. Nexus Technologies is interested in the availability of specializations which will be available in the coming months, we would like to enhance our skills and knowledge in this area.”

Specialized partners will have greater access to Symantec sales and technical resources as well as financial incentives that will help reduce the sales cycle. In turn, Symantec can bring new customer solutions to market faster with support from qualified partners who have competencies in the respective solution family.
