CCCI now accepts nominations for "Entrepreneur of the Year" award

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is now accepting nominations for the ‘15th Entrepreneur of the Year Award,’ a recognition of outstanding individuals and companies who genuinely contributed to the development of Cebu’s economy.

Only owners/managers of private or publicly listed companies operating for not less than three years could qualify for the award. He or she must be primarily responsible for the past and present performance of the company or an active member of top management.

The chamber is encouraging self-nominations, according to a press release.

The entrepreneur of the year must demonstrate leadership and perseverance in the face of adversity ; fosters teamwork and builds loyalty among personnel ;demonstrates innovativeness in their product or services ; lives out integrity in the area of business competition ; practices corporate social responsibility ; and demonstrates exceptional track record based on the company or business’ present financial performance.

The award has been institutionalized as the culminating activity of the Cebu Business Month in June. Other awards to be given are the “Environmentally Responsible Entrepreneur”, “Emerging Entrepreneur”, “Socially Responsible Entrepreneur”, “Young Entrepreneur”, “Countryside Entrepreneur”, and “Small Business Entrepreneur”.

The Grand Chamber Awards is spearheaded by CCCI past president, Jose T. Ng. The panel of judges is composed of past presidents of the CCCI.
