Aqua Pure concept to cut costs of refilling stations
CEBU, Philippines - As more and more people are now depending on the supply of purified drinking water, Cebu-based purified water provider, Aqua Pure Water Resources Inc., diversifies its focus into providing bulk-water supply to different re-filling stations across the country.
From establishing a brand as a purified water distribution company, servicing residential and commercial customers, Aqua Pure is now focusing its business on supplying purified water by bulk, providing high profitability and quality for refilling-station and distribution businesses.
“We are expanding the supply of bulk-purified water to refilling stations to other areas, like Iloilo, Davao, and Metro Manila,” said Aqua Pure executive vice president Romy Samson.
Samson said this concept can help refilling stations increase their profitability even if they will not invest and operate their Reverse-Osmosis (RO) machines, only the post-treatment machine upon delivery of purified water.
“They can re-brand the water bottles, as we are following the OEM [original equipment manufacturer] concept,” Samson said.
At present, the company is supplying a total of 350 cubic-meter purified water to different re-filling stations in Metro Cebu. This is equivalent to 17,000 to 18,000 five-galloon container a day.
The proliferation of purified water stations is brought about by the high-demand for both commercial and residential customers demanding for purified water especially for drinking and cooking.
According to Samson, Aqua Pure decided to focus into this service, as more entrepreneurs are taking advantage of this business, and providing bulk-supply of purified water makes refilling stations save their operational cost of no less than 50 percent.
“There is no need for them [refilling stations] to invest on OS machine, or if they have it already they can save power on operating it everyday. As we supply treated water already, all they have to do is put the water to post-treatment machine,” Samson said.
In 2008, Aqua Pure invested P10 million to expand its production coverage and distribution in Visayas and Mindanao.
Aqua Pure is one of the pioneering companies in Cebu offering purified water for commercial and residential clients about over a decade ago.
Now, that almost every home needs treated water for drinking, the business of purified refilling stations have grown, with different brands found in every corner.
Although, Aqua Pure will continue its distribution and bottling business, Samson said the company will also put its efforts now on the bulk-supply venture, as demand is not only strong in Metro Cebu, but all over the Philippines.
With the same concept, Samson said there is also a huge possibility that prices of five-galloon water container, which is now averaging from P25 to P35 will drop, as competition is tough and Aqua Pure is introducing a way to reduce the operational cost of refilling stations.
