Robinsons Land to open Cybergate by mid-2010

CEBU, Philippines - To further expand their services in Cebu, Robinsons Land Corporation will soon be having its grand opening their new project in the city, the Robinsons Cybergate.

Stretched in a 26,500 square meter floor area, Robinsons Cybergate is a mixed used development that offers different services and products all over the seven-story building.

RLC general manager Nilo Mapa Jr., said Cebu is always important to them and that Cybergate is a testament of their plans to continually extend their services in the city.

Momot Irizari, RLC-Cebu group property manager for the commercial centers division, said that they will have the grand opening once all the stores are completed but this won’t be too far away since 80 percent of the malls’ leasable space are already occupied.

Irizari said that while the whole structure is already complete, there are still some things to be done and hopefully would have the grand opening by the second or third quarter of 2010.

All of the services to be offered vary from each other following the concept of Cybergate on a place for shopping, health and wellness and a center for Business Process Outsourcing rolled in to one.

Irizari said that the first two floors will be allocated for the food shops and retail stores as well as in the second floor where food stalls are also found including malls’ food court.

According to Irizari, the third floor is reserved entirely for the wellness shops like spa and salons while the fourth floor is for dental and orthopedic services and other medical stores.     

The succeeding stores would be for the BPOs which Irizari said nothing is finalized yet as to what particular company would be leasing the area although they are currently negotiating with a lot of BPOs that are interested.

She said that they could have more than one BPO company in the fifth to seventh floor but would depend on the need of the company and their agreement with RLC.

Also, since BPOs have 24/7 operations, Irizari said that some of the shops inside the mall like the convenience store and the coffee shop will also be opened for 24/7.

Irizari said that they are confident with the location of Cybergate considering the large market that passes through the place and the big establishments and offices just near the area. She said that the security is also a big factor since they have Fuente police station just nearby.

Ample parking space is also provided in the area, which could have at least 216 parking spaces.

But RLC’s Cybergate project is just one of the proof of their expansion plans in Cebu since they will soon be starting with another one in the North Reclamation Area of the city.

Irizari said that they would be opening another mall targeted by 2011, found near the old White Gold store that would have a 45,000 square meter property.   

She said that while it has the same mixed concept with Cybergate but would have a lot more additions like a supermarket, a department store, and a convention center.
