CEBU, Philippines - To cope with the fast changing consumers’ preference as well as to manage the effects of the global financial crisis that has crippled the purchasing power of many, LG Electronics now focuses on coming up with new designs to stimulate the interest of the consumers.
LG Electronics Philippines mobile division head Richard Javier said, during the recent launching of its new cellular phone model, that they carefully consult first through a study the needs of the public and the market in general before they come up with new equipments.
“LG is and has been committed to pushing the limits of handset design. Consumer insights play a big role in how we approach handset innovations. LG decided to introduce innovative phones just like the GD900 Crystal after a thorough study of consumer behavior and of the market,” he said.
The new LG GD900 Crystal is the world’s first transparent design phone and the first phone to feature LG’s next generation touch technology, Gesture Command, which complements the much praised 3D S-Class user interface.
Javier said that the company has made a bold step in the design category by introducing another innovative concept, which is transparency.
“Once imagined but never seen before, the LG GD900 Crystal is expected to make a new fashion statement, said Javier who added that design predicts the emerging needs of the consumers and designs new worlds, and lifestyle concepts.
“This means we should be always one step ahead of the game, so we do not only focus on products and technological opportunities, but also an attempt at understanding consumer and market needs.”
Javier said that new products that they continually seek for is in line with LG’s commitment in offering the world’s most advanced, intuitive, and convenient products with superior designs and most importantly delivers value for its users.
According to Javier, the consumers’ buying behaviors, like in Cebu , has changed and this has pushed them to now base more on rational criteria.
“Essentially, people are spending more time evaluating products making a purchase, to ensure that a product fully meets their needs.”
But Javier said that they are happy with how Cebu has accepted their new product as well as the other products that has been introduced by the company.
LG, which has been widely known for its quality products such as home appliances and home theatres, has also raved a good support for their cellular phone models, especially the GD900 Crystal.
Javier said that due to the positive response, they plan to open an LG Mobile Concept Store in Cebu by this year.
“We already have various handset designs and advanced technologies that cater to varying needs of the consumers. What we are doing is to increase our channels from North Luzon down to Mindanao just so our consumers can have a first-hand experience of the best in class products and services.” — AJ de la Torre
