Freeman Cebu Business

Skills training program slated this September 26-27

-

CEBU, Philippines - With more and more people venturing into Micro, Small and Medium enterprises to cope with the financial crisis, the Golden Treasure Skills and Development Program brings their seminar in Cebu for the first time to teach skills that people could use to start their businesses.

The GTSDP, an emerging leader in conducting quality livelihood and training seminars in the Philippines, will be introducing two of their anticipated seminars in Cebu for the first time this September 26 and 27 at the University of the Philippines, Cebu campus, from 10 am to 6 pm.

Their Soap Making Seminar and Meat and Fish Processing Seminar will be held respectively in the said dates. This is the group’s way of helping out more people seeking for means of income and responding to the economic crunch that was felt since last year. This is made to further strengthen their goal of “providing tools to succeed in life.”

Joji Blanco, one of the organizers of the Cebu leg of trainings, said the seminars are intended to help out those who would want to undergo skills training in order to venture into their own businesses or to anyone who are interested in learning these skills.

Blanco said that for only P1,900 for each seminar, all the training materials would already be covered, plus the meals and a certification of completion.

The Cebu trainings will be focusing on these two seminars as it has been looked forward to in their other trainings, which have been ongoing for at least eight years all over the country.

The soap making is also offered as it is easy and a fun training for the participants and could also be a home-based business.

Aside from this, soaps are said to be a favorite gift as it is a day-to-day used product. This, according to the group would help the participants save money as they could make soaps also for their own personal consumption.

The meat and fish processing seminar would also be offered since this could also be a business done at home and with the prices of these products in the local market increasing, this could be “a perfect solution.”

Paul Gorre, who was responsible for bringing the seminar to Cebu, said that aside from the help this could make in giving extra income to the participants, this would be a good way to learn skills that many do not know thus impressing family and friends.

During the seminar, different products would be taught to the participants like making Tocino, Skinless Longganisa, Chinese Sausage, Embutido, Chicken Nuggets, Chicken and Pork Ham, Pork Kikiam, Corn Beef, bangus and many more.

The participants would also be taught other matters in doing business like dealing with materials, costing, and basic guidelines that would help them maintain a business, if they would like to pursue such.— AJ de la Torre
