A reader called us up last week to tell us about the tents that are being put up on the road in Mandaue City.
He said that there is a tent in Cabancalan that is right on the road eating almost one lane.
We also saw this tent that he mentioned and it seems that it has been left there even if the wake is already over.
Mandaue City officials should look into this and make sure that roads are not blocked.

We also see these tents in other areas around Cebu and some even put them up not along, but on the highway, which makes it very dangerous.
There was one that we saw in Minglanilla yesterday and we just hope that no accident would happen to the people, who would be using the tents.
While these tents are very good political gimmicks, their use must be regulated to prevent accidents.
The question is who among our politicians has the balls to do it?

We also received this email from Bingen Mendezona after that recent accident in Mandaue City where a passenger jeepney hit the approach of a flyover resulting to the death on one passenger.
Bingen said that it was not a mishap, but the death was caused by the fact that the vehicle that served as public transportation wasn’t even safe enough.
He called them “death traps” and we think he really is right.
He also said that it is about time that the commuting public should be given safe and efficient vehicles by the transport sector.
This is a very legitimate concern and the authorities can also add the qualification of the drivers who operate the vehicles as many accidents are also caused by their neglect or worse their stupidity.

We received several complaints about how the personnel of the towing companies continue to tow the vehicle even if the driver is already there.
We were told that the towing personnel are not supposed to continue if the driver is there and instead just issue a citation ticket.
This seems not to be the case. How come our city officials in the CITOM Board are very quiet about this?
We need some clarification sirs.
