CEBU, Philippines – A newly opened sports bar located at Juan Luna Avenue this city, targets the growing market of sporty urban yuppies.
Cantomeza Sports Bar, which got its name from the rectangular shape of the billiard table and its unique location in the two corners of Juan Luna Avenue and Tres Borces intersections as well as the F. B Cabahug intersection, ushers in a unique concept from other existing restaurant players in Cebu because it serves a wide variety of international cuisine opposed to the “pika-pika” set-up in other sports bars in town.
In an interview with Glenn Daniel C. Cubero, he said Cantomeza Sports Bar targets the young professional, sports buffs and even anyone who likes to de-stress through sports and entertainment.
Cubero said the new business venture is the brainchild of their group who are fond of playing billiards and the opportunity came when the space was vacated by its former locator.
After renovating the area, Cantomeza sports bar can now accommodate 60 people and has six billiard tables that will give enthusiasts like themselves a reason to frequent the bar.
Although fairly new to Cebu’s food industry, Cubero said that all of the bar’s incorporators under the D’ Club Management and Development Corp. are businessmen and women so they have prior experiences in managing businesses.—Rhia de Pablo
