Blue Info Club launches sales reality game show

-

Blue Info Club Channel 45, Cebu’s business channel, recently launched the first ever interactive reality game show that involves implementing effective sales strategy.

Pinoy Student Sales Team (PSST) 2009 is a reality game show that provides on-field experience, in terms of making sales, to a number of teams of students from Cebu’s various universities.

“The show is aimed at helping students experience practical ways of selling different products and enhance their salesmanship skills. The competition also showcases different products of different companies in Cebu,” Blue Info Club Channel 45’s president and chief executive officer Bobot Ramos said.

Blue Info Club Channel 45 is a business and lifestyle network at Sky Cable, which airs shows that feature business and companies in Cebu.

Ramos said that their latest show is unique, innovative and creative because it is a homegrown idea.

The participants of the show are composed of teams of students and faculty members representing one university.

Currently, the participating schools include teams from the University of Cebu-Main campus, University of Cebu- Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM), University of San Jose Recoletos and the University of the Visayas.

Each team is composed of 10 students and two faculty members who will direct their respective teams.

In the contest, each participating team will outdo each other in terms of selling different products and they are also encouraged to implement and create a sales strategy to generate high volumes of sales.

The teams will sell products of Profood International Corp., Sunpride Foods, Inc., LG Cellular phones, Kingcom digital cameras from RC Goldline, Top 40 shirts and apparels, concert tickets from ticket hotline, credit card applications from Banco de Oro, Autolab basic wash and change oil packages, kit for nursing students, Tonyo’s Lechon, Vienna Kaffehaus food gift certificates, and Chery car units.

The teams are allowed to mark up the prices of each product to defray the cost that they acquire for their operating expenses in their sales activities.

The game show has five sales periods, which will collectively last for one semester from November 10 to March 20, 2009.

There will be an awarding day for each time period and winners will be based on their total sales and the bracket where their sales belong.

PSST guarantees more than P250,000 for the winning team with the highest cumulative sales.

“This is the channel’s way of helping out students to experience for themselves practical selling and for companies in Cebu to get exposure for their products and help their sales efforts,” said Ramos.

He said that other than providing students the practical experience in selling on field, the reality show will also give pride to each of their schools since the teams will be representing them on the show.
