Looking at the huge demand of quality cosmetic and pharmaceutical products here in Cebu, a high-end brand of “cosmeceutical” product recently launched its new product lines in the city.
“Our products are very expensive but we have been amazed at how it sells like pancakes in the market,” said Vicky Marchadesch, Brand Manager of Luxasia Philippines, Incorporated, the distributor of top-line and international fragrances and cosmeceutical products in the country.
Marchadesch said that were amazed with the huge client base prospect here in Cebu for their cosmeceutical products.
She said that this may be because there are a lot of women who are afraid to undergo invasive beauty treatments such as surgeries and clinical operations.
Marchadesch said that even before they have formally introduced the StriVectin- SD line in Cebu, the product has already been gaining positive reception from the market.
She said that their product were usually placed in the general rack of the Rustans’ Department Store here in Cebu before they decided to put up a separate corner for it in the store.
She said that socialites in Cebu have shown warm reception over the product as they have been ordering these in the States.
With prices that range from P4,000 to P14,000 for one product line, Lux Asia recently launched the StriVectin product line which included the best selling Strivectin Stretch Marks and Anti-Wrinkle Cream, Hylexin Eyes Spot brightener and Lumedia Face Brightener.
These products are made by an American pharmaceutical company and is considered better than botox.
These line have been marketed for a year and a half in Manila and it had been doing well in terms of sales as it has been well-patronized by the market.
So Marchadesch is hoping that the product line will also receive the same clamour here in Cebu noting the Cebuano buyers have generated the biggest response even before.
Luxasia, Philippines Inc. also distributes high-end products such as Shiseido, Lancome, Bvlgari, and Calvin Klein, among others.
Although Luxasia Philippines has been a major player in the country’s fragrance industry with the globally popular brands they distribute, they are now concentrating on building up their cosmeceutical product lines to compete in this slowly growing segment of the country’s beauty industry.
Marchadesch said that cosmeceutical products are now gaining huge patronage in the Philippine market because it combines the elements of a cosmetic and a pharmaceutical product in one, which make it a better alternative for surgical operations. – Rhia de Pablo
