The country’s gloomy economy juxtaposed to a strong health and wellness consciousness of the market helped push multi-level marketing (MLM) company Lifestyles Philippines to hit a 40 percent growth this year.
"The year 2008 is greatest year for Lifestyles' journey in the Philippines. When the economy is not doing well, people are on a constant lookout for secondary income generator, and we are proud to have helped a lot of Filipinos in providing livelihood," said Lifestyles Philippines general manager Lucille Z. Villa in a press conference.
Lifestyles is the world's renowned MLM company, that have withstand the ups and downs of networking business, especially in the Philippines, wherein the industry is weakened by the existence of dozens of bogus pyramiding companies that disguised as legitimate MLM firms.
"Now, the MLM industry in the Philippines have consolidated, and those who are legitimate and credible have continued to be here, in fact, reaping tremendous growth," Villa said.
"Some [MLM companies] have come and go. But legitimate players have stayed," she said. Lifestyles Philippines, with its flagship product called Intra-Juice, have been in the Philippines for the last 10 years.
The company, which is based in Toronto, Canada, has created over 10,000 (active) distributors across the country. Villa said it is positioning to double or triple the number of active distributors in the next few months, while health and wellness related products are now the most in-demand products not only in the Philippines, but all over the world.
She said Lifestyles is pushing its core vegetable and fruit-based products such as Intra (Juice), Nutria- anti-oxidant supplement, and its newest FiberLife, which is known to control diabetes.
"We are proud that we belong to the health and wellness category. We have proven ourselves in the Philippines with our 'excellent' products," Villa said.
She stressed that business outlook for Lifestyles in the Philippines this year is on brighter side, as the market has changed into more health-conscious, while a lot of Filipinos are looking for additional income.
