Benedicto-owned Enrison Land Inc., (ELI), the developer of Microtel Resort on Mactan Island, is now eyeing a possibility of developing another hotel or a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) building at the Cebu Asia Town IT Park.
ELI vice president Ericson Benedicto yesterday said that the next priority project of the company is to develop the 2,000 square-meter company-owned property at the IT Park.
A series of feasibility studies are now being done to determine the appropriate investment the company needs to pursue in the City-based project.
"We are also studying if the market is still feasible for another city hotel," he said as of now, the company is also considering to establish a BPO building.
Whichever will prove to be of more profitable based on the study result will be pursued by the company, he added.
"Being in that area [IT Park], a hotel or a BPO building are our best choices," he said.
Compared to a city hotel investment, Benedicto said resort project is more viable in Cebu these days. Thus, the next project of the company will depend on the result of the market feasibility study being conducted by the company.
ELI has invested at least P200 million for the establishment of the 161-room Microtel Resort in Mactan, which is the largest of all Microtel hotels across the Philippines.
Aside from its plan to develop the IT Park property, the company is also considering to pursue more investments in tourism related facilities.
However, as of now, no concrete plans yet is being considered, only after the company will set up property the Microtel Mactan operation, which is ELI's first entry to the hotel industry.
ELI has inked a deal with the Microtel Inns & Suites [Pilipinas] Inc., for a 100 percent franchise package, which means to invest in the resort facility, tapping the management expertise of Microtel group.
Microtel Mactan is ready for commercial opening in the next few days.
