Chery’s QQ named mini car of the year

Chery’s 2008 QQ unit was named as the “Mini Car of The Year” at the fourth annual C! Awards, a yearly award organized by the country’s top motoring journalists from a magazine that sets the standards for a car and verifies compliance by automobile manufacturers.

Ricky Lam, CEO and general manager of Iseway Motors Philippines, Inc. expressed the company’s pride in winning the prestigious award saying that, “the award demonstrates the fruit of Chery community’s great efforts here in the Philippines.”

Since it was launched last July 2007 in the Philippine market, the QQ has sold more than 1, 000 units already making it Chery’s longest running best seller.

Last year, the company achieved its historical milestone which reflected the domestic emergence of China's growing industrial strength as it sold a total of 381,000 passenger cars (PC) in the global market representing an increase of 24.8 percent over the previous year.

In the first half of this year, Chery achieved an overseas sales volume of 81,211 units representing an increase of 57.3 percent over the same period of 2007. This  accounted for 40.7 percent of Chery’s total sales in the first half of 2008, and of which completely built up (CBU) export reached to 47,240 units.

As a result, Chery ranked first among all passenger vehicle exporters from China with total export revenue exceeding $478,000,000, increasing by 53 percent.

Right now, Iseway Motors, the exclusive distributor of Chery Automobiles in the Philippine market is offering its buyers a great deal on their vehicle purchase as they announced their extended warranty (EW) insurance program.

Covering all brand new units, they offer a five-year or a 150, 000 kilometer warranty as standard.

Among vehicle components covered in the EW program include engine (rocker assembly, inlet and exhaust valves), timing, belts, gearboxes (manual and automatic), and its continuous variable transmission (CVT).
