Two companies of the Aldeguer Group recently launched its direct selling venture to cater to the huge untapped market in the provinces.
USA Sports and Life Prolong will now go into direct selling as announced by the Aldeguer Group of Companies VP for Operations Divina Gracia B. Antang during their launching.
Antang said the reason for venturing into the trend of direct selling is to cater to the needs of the huge market from the barrios and so that AGC products will become widely available and not limited to retail outlets.
“Late last year we just tested the waters now we have come up with our marketing strategy so right now we are ready to go full blast as our stocks are also ready. In direct selling, there is huge potential to double our revenues and sales at the same time help small entrepreneurs start their own businesses,” added Antang.
USA Sports operated its direct selling venture since last year but it is just now that they went to full blast marketing together with Life Prolong.
“This move is very timely as we are now able to get away from the usual retail format since person to person selling is already the trend in the market right now,” added USA Sport’s Marketing Manager Danny Y. Patalinghug.
With their direct selling venture, Patalinghug said that they will be opening more business center operations that will be operated by their dealers.
However, Antang said that this new phase in AGC’s operations will not mean that they will be letting go of their retail operations, this would only mean an expansion and addition to their marketing arm.
“There is a different market between direct selling and retail. We are still doing well in our retail outlets but we believe that direct selling will make our products available to the bigger untapped market,” said Antang.
USA Sports was launched in 1992 to cater to a growing sports market in the city. At present, it owns and operates 7 shops in all major malls and over 23 department store outlets nationwide. Whereas, Life Prolong on the other hand is a distributor of natural alternative products in the health and wellness industry which was started in 2004. It carries products such as Slimtrim, and Vitamor.
Currently, AGC has already opened 31 business centers in Vis-Min and they are planning to grow more this year as they go into Davao and other key areas in Visayas and Mindanao.
The Aldeguer Group of Companies (AGC) is one of Cebu’s biggest conglomerates operating and engaged in the garment and retail industry as well as in food, advertising and sports.
The conglomerate started in 1976 when it created Loalde Philippines; presently Aldeguer and Company, Inc., then it embarked on several other ventures and expanded its market with the inception of new products and brands.
This resulted to the emergence of other companies such as: Wacky Garment Industry, Aldeguer Apparel and Accessories, Inc., Aldeguer Marketing, Inc., Islands Souvenirs, Inc., Life Prolong and Natural Supplements, Inc., USA Sports, Inc., Ala Boxing, Media Images and Placement (previously Cebu TV).
