It feels good to know that despite the negativity of many people, there are still those who believe that there is hope for the authorities to listen to the motorists if we keep on bringing up their mistakes.
The authorities sometimes see things differently from their perspective and at times they even see it through rose colored glasses.
Here’s another email from a motorist in relation to matters we have been bringing up the past several weeks or months maybe.
Good morning Nim. I always see to it that I get to read your Motorists' Corner every time I get the chance to have a copy of The Freeman on Tuesdays. Anyway you're right that CITOM personnel really ignore the traffic caused by these PUJ drivers right in front of the Asilo de la Milagrosa & the adjacent area. I don't really buy the idea that they don't see it unless CITOM is employing "blind" traffic enforcers. They are not really doing their job as "traffic enforcers" because instead of managing the flow of traffic, they just stand around doing nothing but "sigeg pamaypay anang ilang citation tickets" waiting for an accident to happen when in fact a blatant violation of traffic laws are happening right between their eyes.
Okay so much for that area in Asilo. Let me go to the road we travel everyday the Banilad -Talamban Road. Last night (April 27) on the way home at around 6:10 pm, Marichu & I were on the inner lane at stop position while the outer lane was on the go position for maybe 3 minutes or so (naay CITOM personnel nag supervise – milagro dah!) & then it was our turn and then just one car in front of us a "pink" Talamban bound PUJ from the outer lane suddenly swerved & entered the inner lane. The CITOM enforcer (tiguwangon nga medyo dangas) stopped the PUJ right in front of him which meant that wa mi abti ug 1 minute nga ni go sa inner lane!!! Guess what the "stupid" (strong language ni) did? He stopped the PUJ & then allowed again the outer lane to go as he just stood there not even lecturing the "abusive" driver. Maybe he was just out to give the guy a lesson but he was inconsiderate also for the motorists in the inner lane. How stupid that enforcer can be?
Well what can I do but just grind my teeth in disgust because I don't mind to "stop" so long as the enforcer issues a ticket to that erring driver. So what do you think, does our CITOM personnel really do their job? Sayang tax we are paying the city government.
Hayy kanus-a pa man tawon na mahuman ang flyover ug dali nga wa man ko kakita ug mga tawo nag trabaho...

Last Sunday night, almost two of the north-bound lanes of the national highway in Basak-Pardo were occupied by a stage and people watching a show.
We again would like to call on the barangay officials particularly the now very popular Captain Dave Tumulak due to the surgery scandal where one of his constituents is the complainant, to look at the safety issue here.
Yes, the drivers would probably see the people willing around the stage meters before they reach the area, but this does not mean you are not putting the people in a situation where their lives are in danger.
We hope that fiesta organizers and barangay officials can find ways for safer celebrations.
