It all started with a chance, an opportunity and risk, but above all, talent and determination speak for everything.  Bruce Cortes Bollozos, the prominent host of Studio 23’s first Cebuano business and lifestyle show TOP PICK, is still astonished with the fact that he is now managing his own advertising company – GURU Ads and Marketing Consultancy.  For sure, who would have even thought that such company would be born with a very minimal capital of P5,000 only?

A graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication in the University of San Jose-Recoletos, this 27-year old young entrepreneur has always been passionate with creating out-of-the-box innovations in every career that he opts to take. 

Bruce recalled that the initial offer was for him to host the show only, but then due to some inevitable circumstances which delay the timeline of the production, the daredevil Bruce grabbed the chance of producing his own show, and that was the birth of GURU Ads and Marketing Consultancy.          

Nevertheless, starting a company, especially with such a very small capital of P5,000, GURU Ads has experienced its memorable birthing pains.  Bruce could not forget those moments when he sometimes felt despondent with the problems facing his baby company.  But with his skyscraping determination and drive to carry on with his business, he was able to cope with those challenges and in six months time, started to slowly reap the fruits of his labor, “We're a long way where we want to be but what we have achieved this time is far ahead of schedule. .”
