Wanting to take a huge part of the multi-billion dollar herb industry in the international marketplace, a Malaysian company will soon be operating in the country to bolster its Asian penetration.
Having established presence in countries across the globe like Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, United States of America, South Africa, Canada, United Kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica; multi-national company Easy Pha-Max, the company with the largest global e-herbs center and considered as the world’s bio herbs leader is all set to take off its Philippine operation this year.
In a one-on-one interview with the company’s Chief Executive Officer Edward Ling, he pointed out that, “Philippines is one of the very strategic markets in the world as it is an English-speaking market.”
Easy Pha-max is the subsidiary of INS Bioscience, which is the marketing and distribution arm of Easy Pha-max brand of health supplement in the local and international markets. Easy Pha-max, among others, is leading in the biotechnology of herbal health supplement drawing from the success of its Wheatgrass products.
The company had already 100% sat up their operations in the country under Easy Pha-Max Philippines, Incorporated but is still under an introductory stage, the reason why they hold seminars in different parts of the region.
Ling was here in Cebu recently to lecture their partners about their so-called blue ocean principle, the core value concept of their business operations.
Ling explained that their blue ocean strategy combines the franchise model and e-commerce utilizing biotechnology to operate which he perceives to be a strong combination.
They utilize the franchise model as they provide everything on-line to their partners including 1, 000 future products yet to be developed.
Easy Pha-Max also operates the world’s first and largest public herb portal and search engine called as hewo.com, where their partners can do transactions from varied clients across the world and where interested parties can gain sufficient information about the industry. Barley a month from its launching, the portal has already emerged on the top position in Google, Yahoo, AOL and Netscape search engines.
But aside from their portal, the company also holds a global bio herbs economics forum in China gathering all herbalists in the world together to create more awareness to the world and gain positive impact for the herbal industry.
“With all these factors, the portal and the forum, we can make the whole concept powerful especially if we utilize people alliance cooperation concept tapping resources of people and leveraging to speak with volume that will make as realize that we can capture the economy in higher percentage,” Ling stressed.
Ling reported that the World Bank is viewing the herb industry at the moment generates about 300 billion dollars and is significantly growing 35% every year that by year 2015, the industry is projected to become a 5 trillion dollar industry.
“The herbal market is so big. Asia actually owns 60% of the world’s herbal resources but so far we are only taking 6% of the economy cake as the European and American markets are utilizing these resources,” Ling discussed.
Ling further discussed that the herbal industry is actually dominated by German and US companies which utilizes state-of-the-art technology.
