Motorshow to benefit automotive retailers
The upcoming Motorshow Cebu International is seen to help boost the businesses of small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) that are into trading and distributorship of different automotive products and services.
Felix Tagyam, head for Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry transport committee, said that because of this foreseen benefit, the chamber is supporting this year’s Motorshow Cebu International to be held on October 16-21 at the Cebu International Convention Center (CICC).
“We [CCCI] are one hundred percent behind events like these, which are in line with the chamber’s thrust to help in the improvement of the local economy especially the SMEs,” Tagyam said.
Organized by the Philippine Exhibitions and Trade Corporation (Petco), the upcoming international motorshow will take advantage of the huge area at the CICC to showcase wide array of latest products and services in the automotive industry.
“When I was still a trader, I joined a motorshow here 14 years ago. It was held at the Sacred Heart for lack of venue. It helped a lot in promoting the products I was distributing back then,” Tagyam added.
Petco held its first international motorshow in the country in
In a statement, Petco said the absence of a venue to host large-scale indoor or outdoor events was a setback for the province for a long time, leaving it no choice but to mount the next motorshow in Metro Manila.
The organizer emphasized contribution of its events to the establishment of the government-developed CICC, saying it encouraged Petco to hold the 8th Motorshow International back where it all started.
This may not be as big as what they have in
Petco said it will take advantage of the multi-million facility’s indoor and outdoor spaces to accommodate the different highlights and special events of the motorshow.
At CICC’s main level, the latest models of cars and vehicles, as well as new products, services and related technologies in the automotive and cycle industries will be showcased in the Corporate Display and Sponsor Pavillion
The accessories section of the exhibit will be held at the second floor. It will showcase automotive parts and accessories, auto gadgets, car care products, maintenance and serving equipment, car air conditioning, cycle gears, motorbikes and motorcycle parts, gadgets and gears, bikes and cycle care products as well as maintenance and service equipment, allied industries and services.
The lower level on the other hand will accommodate the Motorshow Display and Competition area. Here competing vintage and classic cars as well as contemporary European and Japanese cars with body and engine modifications will be placed on display.
Meanwhile, the spacious grounds will play host to other exciting motorshow highlights such as the remote control races, and the Cebu Grand Slalom, among others. – Ehda M. Dagooc
