Microtel Inns & Suites (Pilipinas), Inc. targets to open up a bed and breakfast hotel accommodation in each province across the Philippines, in the next 10 years.
"We hope to put up a Microtel Hotel or Resort in every province in the Philippines as our long term goal, as long as we can find prospective partners," said Dean Y. Cid, a resident manager of the newly opened Microtel Resort in Boracay.
By the end of 2007, the company is targeting to increase its network to eight Microtel-managed small hotel or resort around the country.
Cid said the Philippines is potential for the bed and breakfast accommodation concept, with its tourist attraction sites that do not have good hotel or resort facilities.
The Philippines has 79 provinces as of September 2006 statistics. Cid said the company is active in touching base with every province in the country to look for prospective partners or investors.
There are two partnership deals currently being offered by the company. First, is through a 100 percent franchise arrangement, or the investor will have to invest in the development of a hotel property, while Microtel will have to manage the hotel or resort. Second, is a joint investment package in building the facility between the investor and Microtel.
