Ayala-led Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is eyeing to capture the aspiring family travelers in the country, through the introduction of its newest credit card product called BPI WorldPerks Express Credit MasterCard.
BPI, one of the largest universal banks in the Philippines , has launched its newest personalized travel credit card product in Cebu early this week.
This is an opportunity for people who aspires to travel, and achieving it in a more practical way, said Carmel Ace Q. Villaraza, BPI product manager for WorldPerks MasterCard.
This is the first time that the bank has co-brand the chip credit card with an airline to specialize a credit card product. BPI is working in partnership with Northwest Airlines (NWA), which is internationally known for its expansive flight coverage, with daily flights from the Philippines to Japan as well as convenient connections to several US and European gateways.
WorldPerks Express Credit Card is easily available to middle-range earners from those earning at least P10,000 a month, to avail of an international travel package mileage.
As a MasterCard, the BPI WorldPerks is also accepted in almost 30 million MasterCard affiliations worldwide. NWA, on the other hand, offers opportunity for travelers to more than 900 cities in excess of 160 countries on six continents.
In order to earn WorldPerks miles, cardholders simple use BPI WorldPerks MasterCard. Every P45 spent automatically earns them one WorldPerks mile. Unlike other airline co-brand credit cards, the miles with WorldPerks do not expire, she said.
The miles earned continue to accumulate until the cardholder decides to fly and redeem them for a ticket. The miles are also transferable- this allows cardholders to redeem a ticket for their family and friends.
The card also gives cardholders up to P10 million travel insurance coverage, and other travel features of the card such as lower foreign exchange rates, mo mark-up nor processing fees, and cash advance withdrawal of up to 100 percent of their credit limit at over 1,200 BPI ATMs nationwide and at over 960,000 MasterCard or Cirrus affiliated ATM worldwide.
BPI also has a wide array of credit card services that suits to different lifestyles. These include BPI Express Credit Classic, BPI Express Credit Blue MasterCard, BPI Express Credit Gold MasterCard, Petron-BPI MasterCard, among others.
Today, BPI has maintained a leadership position in consumer banking, trust banking and asset management, corporate banking/corporate finance and bancassurance. With over 700 branches and around 1,100 ATMs, BPI boasts of having the largest combined network of branches/kiosk units and ATMs, servicing some three million depositors.
