Amid the increasing price of fuel in the market, the Philippines' second-biggest oil refiner, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation sees big market for premium fuel products in the country.
"There is considerable market for premium fuel products in the Philippines, even in the Visayas market, as there are a lot and growing consumers demanding for high performance products, such as Shell's newest V-Power," said Randolph T. del Valle the company's district manager for Visayas in a press conference during the launching of Shell's V-Power product, another premium fuel product developed by Shell.
In the Philippine market, Shell is dominating the share in fuel technology, in the premium fuel products, such as Shell Velocity and its newest V-Power, the company is getting 72 percent share of the total market share which is also played by other giants in the industry.
With the entry of the V-Power product, the company expects to further improve its dominance in the market, as there are also growing consumers demanding for good quality and high performance products, that would also give a lot of benefits to their cars.
Shell's V-Power is formulated to give more performance while protecting the engine. It is formulated to improve engine responsiveness from the first full tank and performance will continue to improve with continued use.
Despite the volatile and skyrocketing cost of fuel, Del Valle said there are still a big percentage in the Philippine fuel consumer profile that would consider more on the quality of the fuel product, than the cost.
In the Visayas, the company is project Cebu, Negros and Panay as big markets for premium fuel projects, but in some areas V-Power product is not available due to logistics problems, and marketability, like Samar and Leyte.
V-Power, which is also a Ferrari-inspired high performance product, is available in about 40 to 50 stations in the Visayas, out of 160 gasoline stations in the entire Visayas region.
