Another luxury resort in Panglao, Bohol is set to open offering 35 rooms, villas and suite accommodations primarily targeting the Korean and European markets.
Flushing Meadows Resort and Playground located in Barangay Dao, Dauis, Panglao Island in the province of Bohol, has completed its phase I resort project, and commercial operation is set on the third week of this month.
Managed and operated by Filipino hotel management group Hotel Link, the new resort is applying for a triple A accreditation or five-star resort standard, said Flushing Meadows Resort communications officer Marcie A. Abesamis.
Immediately after the resort could take off its operation, Abesamis said the company will start the construction of its phase 2 project, which will add another 65- room accommodation by the end of this year.
"As early as now, we received significant number of bookings already, mostly European and Korean tourists," Abesamis said.
According to Abesamis premium resort accommodation and service is much needed in Panglao now, especially that Bohol is becoming a stand-alone destination that has gained popularity not only in the domestic market but also by foreign guests.
Owned by couple entrepreneurs from Luzon, Flushing Meadows has taken advantage of the Hotel Link expertise in managing and operating resort and hotels led by hotelier Patrick C. Gregorio.
Bernadette Jingco, former top executive of one of the hotel chains based in Cebu, is currently sitting as the resort's managing director.
"We are positioning as a high-end resort in order to address the need of more professionally-managed resorts in the Island, although there are several resort in Panglao that are also working to upgrade its services, and facilities," Abesamis added.
Reportedly, the European market is the most sophisticated hotel and resort visitors, and most demanding in terms of service quality, food, and facilities.
According to Abesamis the management of the resort has to work double time in training its employees in high standard customer service culture, as well as investing in the details of facilities both indoor and outdoor.
Also, being the only resort in Asia Pacific associated with a playground, Flushing Meadows she said aims at attracting family members on weekend escapades and corporate functions for perfect relaxation and comfort island experience.
