To compliment Cebu's bid to attract tourists in the medical and wellness sector, Ruiz Derma and Spa Inc. is investing some P2 million to further improve its services.
Ruiz Derma president Fe Mantua-Ruiz said that its three outlets in Cebu-- at the SM City, in Ayala Center and Ultimate Spa in Mactan -- are now offering Microdermabrasion and Dermalift treatments.
Ruiz said these treatments are safe, effective and non-surgical procedures for all skin colors and types. These require no anesthetics and are excellent for skin that is sensitive to chemical procedures. She added that the procedures give the skin an overall fresh and healthy-looking glow.
Ruiz Derma, one of the pioneering companies in Cebu to offer professional derma treatments, and among the first to introduce the one-stop-shop center for wellness or mediSpa, is also stressing its niche as one of the few wellness centers that is run and managed by physicians. Ruiz's daughter, Dana Ruiz-Sesante is assisting her mother to manage their three outlets in Cebu.
Ruiz said there is a need for wellness centers in Cebu to ensure that professionals are the ones handling the centers to attract tourists and to boost Cebu's bid to be the Spa hub in Southern Philippines.
The derma and spa center has also started training those who are interested in the derma and spa industry through its training arm called Ruiz Derma and Health Training Institute, which is accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
