New Year's Eve at The Peninsula

MANILA, Philippines - With 2014 drawing to a close, the pressure was on to mount the most lavish New Year’s Eve party. As usual, The Peninsula Manila lived up to its reputation for being the most beautiful and elegant place to have one’s yearender bash - even for the most discerning partygoer.

The theme was “crystal” and the hotel did not disappoint. Tables at The Lobby were dripping with crystal candelabras, rhinestone tiaras for the ladies, silk foulards for the men and a king’s ransom in silverware. At the stroke of midnight, a thousand silver and pearl balloons dropped from the ceiling, signaling the end of the old and the start of a new year.
