SGA stuns home team

MANILA, Philippines — Strong Group Athletics grinded out a 99-91 win over the United Arab Emirates national team to open its redemption bid on a high note in the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship yesterday at the Al Nasr Club.

The Philippine representative rode on a telling 14-0 run midway through the fourth quarter to shrug off the home bet and get off to a rousing start in Group A.

Chris McCullough, the former SMB import in the PBA, led the way with 28 points on three triples laced by six rebounds.
