MANILA, Philippines — Converge started weak but finished strong to foil Phoenix Super LPG, 116-105, and notch back-to-back wins in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup last night at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Dropped to an early 18-point hole, the FiberXers picked themselves up and got to within manageable levels with a 33-24 salvo in the second and wrested control with a 39-26 exchange in the third.

They carried their fiery run over to the final canto, 29-25, to complete the follow-up to their 102-91 win over NLEX last Tuesday and go two in a row for the first time in the mid-season conference.

With this, the FiberXers hiked their overall win-loss record to 4-2.

Jordan Heading shone bright in this come-from-behind 11-point conquest, rifling in 21 that went with six assists and five steals.

Cheick Diallo matched Heading’s points production and hauled down 16 rebounds as Schonny Winston (16), Bryan Santos (16), Alec Stockton (14), BJ Andrade (11) and Justine Baltazar (13 rebounds) helped out in this team effort.

The Fuel Masters, after stopping their four-game winless spell with a 115-109 takedown of erstwhile unbeaten NorthPort, found themselves back on the loss column, toting 1-5.

Later, TNT drubbed Blackwater, 109-93, to go on a two-game roll after a sluggish 0-2 opening. The Bossing fell to 1-5.
