Largest Globe GEN3 store opens in Cebu
MANILA, Philippines – Globe Telecom has recently opened a Generation 3 (GEN3) store in Cebu as it seeks to boost retail presence in Visayas.
“Globe has always considered Cebu as one of the key areas in the Philippines where we strive to expand our presence in,” said Joe Caliro, Globe head of retail transformation and stores management, in a statement.
“With the concept and design of the Globe GEN3 Store in Cebu, we are able to set up a space where everyone who walks in can have a totally different experience and come out learning something new every time,” he added.
Measuring over 400 square meters, the GEN3 store in Cebu is the third and the largest GEN3 store Globe that has opened to date.
The store houses four lifestyle zones—music, entertainment, life and productivity—which feature the latest devices, apps, digital connectors and services.
Also available in the store are a wide array of technologies exclusively offered by Globe such as speakers, powerbanks, GPS watches, interactive toys and the Zagg machine, a custom screen protector maker.
The GEN3 stores have veered away from the basic transactional set-up to a venue where customers can discover and learn new things in the digital space.
“The focus is no longer on selling just another postpaid plan or a device, but on creating strong emotional connections between Globe as a global digital brand and our customers,” said Globe president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ernest Cu in a statement.
The stores are designed by Tim Kobe, founder and CEO of Eight, Inc. His most famous work is the Apple Store in New York.
GEN3 stores in the Metro
This year, Globe is set to open two more GEN3 stores at Greenbelt Mall in Makati by August and at SM Megamall in Manadaluyong by October.
The Globe Iconic Store, set to be the grandest Globe store, is soon to rise at Bonifacio High Street Central in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
The existing retail stores will also be converted into GEN3 stores.
