MANILA, Philippines - ESPOO, Finland – Nokia, a leading provider of mobile broadband solutions, has announced that it has been positioned by the analyst firm Gartner Inc. for the third year in a row in the “Leaders†quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for LTE Network Infrastructure 2014.â€
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant evaluates vendors of end-to-end LTE network solutions, based on their completeness of portfolio, vision and ability to execute.
Today, Nokia has 138 commercial references for delivering LTE with leading operators in advanced and large mobile broadband markets such as South Korea, Japan, the United States and China.
In fact, the Magic Quadrant notes that in the past 12 months, Nokia’s rate of gaining new LTE customers is among the fastest in the industry.
Nokia is also the LTE/TD-LTE radio supplier to eight out of the 10 largest LTE operators, measured by LTE subscribers.
“Nokia’s strategic focus means we have been targeting our R&D investments to position ourselves as the world’s mobile broadband specialist. This has been instrumental in us increasingly becoming the partner of choice for LTE, LTE-Advanced and TD-LTE. We believe our position in the Magic Quadrant underscores our sustained progress,†said Marc Rouanne, executive vice president, Mobile Broadband, Networks.
“This is a highly competitive market where very few global network suppliers can provide a comprehensive end-to-end LTE solution, and, for example, Nokia is the only one of those suppliers that can bring a comprehensive, compact and versatile all-in-one small cell solution with full macro parity in indoor, outdoor, micro and pico formats. We are also the only supplier that can deploy a full LTE core, including VoLTE (voice over LTE), in a cloud environment,†Rouanne added.
Bringing innovation from the lab to its portfolio is an enabler at Nokia, and for LTE the company’s innovation spans security, VoLTE, extremely high-capacity solutions and content delivery.
Nokia is a leading vendor for security solutions for mobile broadband with more than 500 successful security projects worldwide and the announced establishment of a Mobile Broadband Security Center in Berlin.
The company is also the only vendor with a large-scale, VoLTE-capable IP Multimedia Subsystem, serving more than 40 million LTE subscribers in a single network.
In content delivery, Nokia has pioneered new ways of bringing applications closer to subscribers with Liquid Applications, which can also be combined with clustered Flexi Zone small cells to offer a unique local application and content hosting capability.
Together with its unique Centralized-RAN architecture which offers massive increases in performance in very dense traffic areas, Nokia provides its customers with the ability to deliver a further enhanced, faster and more secure customer experience.
