Coby debuts first 5-inch quad band smartphone

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - With mobile trends gearing toward larger displays, US mobile device manufacturer Coby ups the ante by releasing a five-inch Android-based smartphone that promises a stunning mobile experience for practical users.

The CMP 500, Coby’s first five-inch phone offering, boasts a full HD, responsive IPS screen that delivers crisp visuals and provides an unmatched phablet-like experience. Complementing the display is a 1.2GHz dual core processor and extended cell life, guaranteeing lightning-fast processing for long stretches of time.

Sporting a sleek, ultra slim body, the CMP 500 is handy and light enough to carry around. It runs on Android 4.1 Ice Cream Sandwich, enabling users to download hundreds of thousands of useful applications in Google Play Store, apart from pre-loaded applications such as the Aldiko e-book reader.

Enhancing the overall visual experience are its dual cameras that vividly capture instant photos and videos. The G-sensor automatically rotates the orientation of the camera according to user position. One-touch functions enable users to easily share images on their social networking accounts;  the USB slot and Bluetooth offer easy transfer of documents and other stored files from user to user.

Of special mention are the CMP 500’s quad band and GPS features — the latter an excellent navigation and geo-tagging tool.

As a quad band device, the CMP 500 is compatible to a whole range of GSMs worldwide so users can keep in touch with friends and family regardless of their location in the globe. It is also a dual SIM phone with dual standby, thus there’s no need to turn the phone on and off to access either SIM.

For only P5,995, the CMP 500 guarantees infinite digital possibilities without breaking the bank.
