Globe mySUPERPLAN propels country’s mobile postpaid industry to new heights

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Globe Telecom’s fully customizable postpaid plans mySUPERPLAN has propelled the company’s unprecedented growth and undisputed leadership in the postpaid segment over the last three years, according to Globe Postpaid head Martha Sazon.

A game-changer in the global telecommunications landscape, Globe mySUPERPLAN was recently hailed by the 16th Telecom Asia Awards as the Most Innovative Telecom Project in Asia, besting Japan (NTT DoCoMo’s translation service), Singapore (SingTel Innov8), Korea (KakaoTalk), and Indonesia (Telkomsel’s Digital Lifestyle Strategy).

“With this recognition, we can proudly say that each and every one of the millions of Globe mySUPERPLAN customers in the Philippines are users of the most innovative telecom product in Asia,” said Sazon.

“We thank Telecom Asia Awards for this recognition which further inspires us to offer more innovative, customer-centric and world-class postpaid services for Filipinos around the world,” she added.

Globe mySUPERPLAN is the first-ever postpaid plan in the world that allows subscribers to create their plan, pick and mix their choice of freebies such as calls, text messages, and surfing services, and even change their plan or freebies according to their needs.

Through Globe mySUPERPLAN, Globe Postpaid has set a new record with double-digit growth in both revenue and market shares in 2012. Postpaid revenues ending 2012 rose to P22.8 billion, a significant 24 percent growth from P18.5 billion from the previous year’s level, translating to a 56.2 percent postpaid revenue share in the country’s mobile postpaid business.

In the area of postpaid customer base, mySUPERPLAN also steered the company’s postpaid leadership closing the year with 1.7 million subscribers. This is a remarkable 19 percent growth from about 1.5 million in 2011, achieving a subscriber base share of 43.5 percent in 2012.

Early this year, Globe Postpaid again posted the highest growth in postpaid acquisition numbers, a remarkable feat amid a more competitive telecom landscape.

In addition to empowering subscribers to create their own plans, mySUPERPLAN also offers the latest gadgets at the best deals on the back of the company’s strong partnership with the world’s leading device manufacturers.

In the first quarter of 2013, Globe scored exclusive deals with two of the world’s biggest smartphone brands, Samsung and BlackBerry, exclusively offering the Samsung Galaxy S III mini and the BlackBerry Z10 LTE.

In May, Globe Postpaid is adding the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S4 in its portfolio of smartphones offered under its suite of postpaid plans.

“The Telecom Asia Award comes as a welcome surprise because Globe Postpaid is poised to launch a bigger, better, and even more personal mySUPERPLAN. This just goes to show that Globe is always one step ahead of competition as well as the current telco trends in Asia. We drive innovations that are truly world-class on their own,” said Sazon.

Riding high on the momentum, Globe Postpaid is poised to launch the new best-ever mySUPERPLAN, which will be the country’s next-generation postpaid plan that will give subscribers almost double of what they pay for.

For the first-time ever, customers will also have the flexibility to choose their contract lock-up periods, giving them more options to personalize and customize their postpaid plans.

With another innovative and customer-centric offer in the pipeline, Globe hopes set to redefine and revolutionize the mobile postpaid industry once again.
