Smart offers widest range of HD voice-enabled handsets
MANILA, Philippines - As mobile phones increasingly become Internet access devices, Smart Communications Inc. also continues to offer superior call quality as it carries the widest range of High Definition (HD) voice-enabled phones in the country.
“We recognize the shift toward mobile data usage especially with the introduction of LTE, but we have not forgotten what makes a phone a ‘phone,’†said Smart Postpaid Business head Kathy Carag.
“Our line of HD voice-enabled handsets provides Smart subscribers with crystal-clear calls, allowing them to feel closer and more connected with their loved ones,†she said.
Similar to hearing the difference between AM and FM radio stations, HD voice makes it easier for callers to recognize commonly misheard sounds such as “s†from “f,†“m†from “n,†and “p†from “t.â€
Smart has made the service available to all Smart subscribers since October 2012 at no additional cost.
Smart offers a total of nine HD voice-capable handsets, including the popular Apple iPhone 5 (free at iPhone Plan 2499), the Sony Xperia V LTE (free at All-In Plan 1800), and the Samsung Galaxy Note II (free at UnliData Plan 2000).
“This new feature is possible because of our super-charged network,†Carag said. “With 54,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables working 24/7 to provide the best call, text, and data services, Smart subscribers are given assurance of the best experience wherever they may be in the country,†Carag said.
Other HD voice-capable handsets available from Smart include the Sony Xperia Z, the Samsung Galaxy Grand and Galaxy S3, the BlackBerry Curve 9320 and 9220, and the BlackBerry Z10.
