Catch Smart's 'Android Fever' at the SM Megamall
MANILA, Philippines - Smart Communications Inc. is heating up the rainy season as it spreads the “Android Fever.”
The special event, which will take place from June 25 to 26 at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, will feature the latest Android handsets available from Smart’s postpaid plans.
Get a feel of the seven Android devices on offer from Smart Gold such as the budget Huawei Ideos U8150 (free at Smart Plan 500), the versatile Samsung Galaxy Mini (free at Smart Plan 1200) and Samsung Galaxy Ace (free at Smart Plan 1800), the tempting Samsung Galaxy Tablet (free at Smart Unlimited Data Plan 2000), and the cutting-edge HTC Desire S (free at Smart Plan 2500).
As a special treat to those who will sign up or renew their contracts during the event, Smart will be offering the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc for free at one plan lower.
As far as budget phones go, nothing can match the Xperia X8’s ability to take on the mundane and the insane.
Running on Google’s legendary Android operating system (version 2.2 FroYo), the X8 has the ability to download apps from the Android Market, making it easily customizable. It’s also capable of turning itself into a Wi-Fi hotspot, so you’ll never be without Internet access wherever you may be.
Touted as the best Xperia smartphone ever made, the Arc features an eight-megapixel still camera with HD video capture, a powerful 1GHz processor, and the latest version of the Android OS, version 2.3 Gingerbread.
What’s more, everything is encased in a super slim chassis that tapers at an unbelievable 8.7-mm all while maintaining a generous screen space of 4.2 inches.
Apart from the device showcase, Android Fever will also feature a photo wall where mall goers could have their barkada pictures taken and printed for free.
There will also be an Android painting and activity booth where the young and the young at heart can design their own Android figurine.
“The Android invasion will help people know just how great Android is,” said Smart chief wireless advisor Orlando Vea.
“We at Smart believe that Android is the future of smartphone software and we are proud to be its ambassador in the Philippines,” Vea added.
