Samsung takes social networking to the next level with Wave 525

MANILA, Philippines - Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp. (Sepco), a leading mobile phone provider, has launched the Wave 525 (S5253) — the newest bada (Samsung’s open mobile platform) smartphone.

The device offers breakthrough connectivity across popular social networking sites with its Social Hub technology.

With Samsung’s Social Hub, all contact details, social networks, and e-mail services are integrated into the phonebook, making connecting and sharing easier than ever before.

Staying up-to-date with posts, statuses, tweets, and messages is convenient with Social Hub. With a touch, users can post, tweet or send a message on Facebook, Twitter, and so much more.

And without breaking a sweat, status updates, tweets, and messages of friends are pulled into one integrated screen. Saying “you’re not in the loop” is now a thing of the past.

“With the new Wave 525, Samsung strengthens its foothold in the smartphone category,” said Glenn Glinoga, head of Sepco’s mobile communications business. “Now consumers don’t need to spend much just to indulge and enjoy the benefits of a smartphone.”

Constant connectivity

The Wave 525 also offers constant connection with lightning-fast Wi-Fi support. Geo-tagging lets users tag photos by location so they can easily sort out images based on whether they are from a summer vacation or a business trip. The feature also allows users to utilize GPS for other useful apps on their Wave smartphone.

Samsung’s bada platform gives users access to an abundance of applications from Samsung Apps, an application store accessible from the Wave phones or a PC.

Featuring a wealth of gaming, social networking, health and lifestyle applications, Samsung Apps delivers instant access to a huge range of mobile experiences.

Users can easily download an app without having to install any software by accessing Samsung Apps right on the phone or synching the device to a PC.

Samsung Kies allows users to browse Samsung Apps on a PC and comes in handy for downloading large files and content.

Java applications will also be offered on Samsung Apps for Wave 525 to enhance the users’ experience with an even wider range of content.

Users can choose from three colors: metallic black, pearl white and romantic pink.
