Xperia X8 features top phone protection

MANILA, Philippines - Sony Ericsson has announced the release of the new Xperia X8, which builds on the success of its flagship Xperia X10 and X10 mini products. 

The new Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 will come pre-loaded in the Philippines with some great apps, including McAfee WaveSecure, one of the world’s leading phone protection services. 

The latest addition to the popular Xperia range of entertainment smartphones has begun shipping nationwide.

The Xperia X8 is one of the most accessible mid-range Xperia smartphones yet, without compromise on function or design. 

It features the signature application Sony Ericsson Time-scape, which chronologically shows the user’s latest SMS, e-mails, social network updates, photos, music and calls in a 3D scrolling menu. 

It also features a 3.2-megapixel camera and a large three-inch touch screen. Images can also be geo-tagged and uploaded directly to Facebook.

With McAfee WaveSecure, the Xperia X8 presents a safe and secure mobile entertainment experience on the Android platform. 

McAfee WaveSecure lets users back up their data, including SMS, call logs, contacts and media such as photos and videos to their secure server where it can be accessed and viewed, and this can be restored on any smartphone of their choice.

It lets users remotely lock the phone and wipe data from a lost phone, and tracks the missing phone through map locations and through a patented track SIM feature. It works even if the SIM card in the phone has been replaced. 

The application functions fully protect the user’s information when the phone goes missing, and can work to help get a lost phone back.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 will offer a full-featured trial version of WaveSecure for three months upon activation, after which users can get an extended license online for an estimated P895 a year.

The partnership kicks off the arrival of the X8 which brings the functionality of the Xperia line to a new price point at P11,600.

Xperia users can further customize their mobile entertainment further through games, music and other apps downloads from Android Market and Sony Ericsson PlayNow.  

This Wi-Fi smartphone also comes with A-GPS, Google Maps, YouTube and a host of Google services.

Like its siblings in the Xperia family, the Xperia X8 was designed with the human curvature design philosophy. The phone’s curve fits perfectly in the palm of the hand. 

With the four corners of the home screen displaying favorite applications, the Xperia X8 is designed for easy, one-hand use and one-touch access.

The Xperia X8 will also ship with EnjoyPH, a new mobile download that gives users a host of perks and freebies from establishments across Metro Manila, Cebu and Boracay. 

It features a searchable directory of merchant partners, information on store hours and amenities, Google Maps directions to the establishments, news feeds and exclusive promos. 

EnjoyPH even has a Near Me feature that indicates the nearest partner merchants and give users access to select special discounts and other offerings.

The mobile application gives a preview of the privileges of Enjoy Card, a loyalty and privilege marketing program with over P250,000 worth of discounts, freebies and perks from over 700 establishments.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 comes in fully black and fully white casing, as well as unique gradient color combinations of white and aqua blue, white and pink, white and dark blue, and white and silver.
