A whole new Panasonic world wows the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines - It was a day when Panasonic, a trusted brand in the realm of home appliances and audio-visual worldwide, literally wowed the Philippine media and their valued dealers through the magic of the company’s very own Inverter technology plus the latest visual treat that has become the global talk-of-the-town topic — 3D.

It was quite a while when local journalists from the business, lifestyle and technology sector last attended a Panasonic event and naturally, they all frantically anticipated the Japanese company’s announcements.

They came in droves, more than 100 of them, to make it a truly unprecedented and SRO media event. They interviewed Panasonic officers, both local and Japanese, and took turns in gathering information about the latest Panasonic products like washing machines, air-conditioners and refrigerators featuring the popular Inverter technology and its promise of huge electricity savings and environment-friendly features that would rock our senses to the core.

The highlight, however, was when they were invited to “Step Into the 3D World” of Panasonic and experience “A New Dimension of Depth and Texture.” Together, they were all treated to a visual phenomenon that would change the way people look at home entertainment by having a sneak preview of Panasonic’s new full high-definition 3D plasma displays at the specially-built 3D Theater at the Edsa Shangri-La’s Isla Ballroom and wowed at its simplistic yet naturally moving 3D capabilities. As soon as they were done, they simply wanted more.

It was more or less the same later in the night when Panasonic’s dealers gathered at the purposely designed exhibit area. Amid cool instrumental bossa nova music and subtle light movements in various shades of blue, the dealers experienced a night of rocking entertainment, which included a special dance number from Panasonic’s latest brand ambassador, the entertainment world’s certified blockbuster queen of TV and movies and prolific endorser, Marian Rivera.

They were also treated to the magic of dance courtesy of top dance group Hot Legs, the sizzling performances of the Mocha Girls, and were totally entertained by the wit and candor of the night’s host, commercial model and athlete Rovilson Fernandez.

Despite the long lull in terms of media attention, Panasonic more than compensated for it. Judging by the crowd during the press conference and dealers’ night, the day was a huge success.
