Sony Ericsson W995 named top music phone
MANILA, Philippines - The new Sony Ericsson W995 Walkman phone has been named this year’s Best Music Phone by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA), a category that the company has won for the second year in a row.
The EISA Awards are annually issued by an association of 50 special interest magazines based in 19 European countries.
Editors-in-chief of these multimedia publications gather yearly to select the best products in six categories: Audio, Video, Home Theater, Photography, In-Car Electronics and Mobile Devices.
The winning gadgets are highly recommended items that quickly become market favorites.
The Sony Ericsson W995 was chosen Best European Music Phone 2009-2010 for a myriad of easy-to-use multimedia features.
It was lauded for its 2.6-inch display with 240 x 320 pixel resolution for an impressive viewing experience, AV playback at 30 frames per second, coupled with Wi-Fi, 3G capability and DLNA-connectivity.
Users can view images or listen to music from the W995 on DLNA-compatible devices.
The W995 allows users to simply drag and drop any video — including full-length movies — song, photo or podcast directly from PC to phone with Media Go, a free application that automatically converts all entertainment files to play on the phone.
It comes with a Walkman 4.0 music player with trademarked features SensMe, which organizes songs according to style and tempo; and Shake control, which can shuffle the playlist by shaking the phone.
The 3.5-mm audio jack allows connections to favorite headphones.
Additional features include a camera of 8.1 megapixels with 16x digital zoom, a video and image stabilizer, picture and video blogging, aGPS, Google Maps, geo-tagging of photos, FM radio, YouTube access, and the new Walk Mate application, a daily step counter for fitness.
The W995 is now available locally in authorized Sony Ericsson dealers nationwide. It comes in progressive black, cosmic silver, and energetic red.
Last year, the Sony Ericsson W980 Walkman phone won the EISA Awards’ Best European Music Phone.
It was cited for its audio-enhancing technology that boosts the listening experience with Clear Stereo and Clear Bass functions.
