Singapore gab to tackle trends in broadcasting

As the industry takes on the migration from analog to digital, experts coming from all over the world will tackle the various issues and challenges on digitization in the forthcoming BroadcastAsia2004 International Conference on June 15-18 at the Singapore Expo.
Targeting broadcasters, digital content developers and production houses, the comprehensive four-day conference is comprised of 12 business and technology sessions and six adjacent events.
It will have 100 speakers and delegates from 300 participating companies.
The conference highlights include the following:
Asian D-Cinema Summit where experts from Eng Wah, GDC Technology, Mukta Adlabs and Singtel will address key issues on business models, rights management, delivery modes and security as the digital cinema wave catches on quickly globally;
Digital Lifestyles, a field review of the opportunities of interactivity and broadcasting via mobile TV, mobile phones and PDAs; and
Accountable Management in Broadcasting and Mobile Broadcasting Bane or Boon? conferences that will tackle the best practices in broadcasting management, revenue models and regulatory issues.
A series of events have also been lined up alongside the BroadcastAsia2004 International Conference. They are the following:
Chief Engineers Roundtable, an interactive program where chief engineers in the industry can team up to design state-of-the-art broadcast systems which will deliver new revenue streams;
Audio Technology Seminar, a must-attend seminar for all audio professionals involved in mid-range live sound for studio, theaters and auditoriums;
BroadcastAsia Training College which will offer hands-on training in production, broadcast engineering and transmission;
Masterclass where professionals in CGI effects from Digimax who have worked on movies such as Matrix Reloaded, Godzilla, Shrek, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone and The Two Towers will share their techniques and tricks in production and post-production work; and
Graphite2004 and VRCAI2004 which will feature the latest computer graphics and virtual reality technologies and their use in games, the arts and electronic theater, among other applications.
