Top RP telecom firms joining CommunicAsia2004

-
The country’s top telecommunications companies will join global industry players in CommunicAsia 2004 at the Singapore Expo on June 15-18.

These telcos include the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co (PLDT), PLDT Global, Smart Communications, Globe Telecom, Globe Quest, Bayantel and 3D Network.

The Philippine participation is being organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).

CommunicAsia 2004, together with two other related events, namely, BroadcastAsia and Enterprise IT, will have more than 2,000 exhibitor-companies from 54 countries and expects over 50,000 international trade visitors.

All three events are part of the Infocomm Media Business Exchange (imbX), a dynamic week of events that will feature three exhibitions, eight main conferences and close to 400 speakers.

Having established itself as Asia’s most established communications and IT trade show, CommunicAsia has, through the years, provided a venue for companies to showcase their latest products and services.

Its three sub-shows – MobileCommAsia, Network Asia and SatComm – will reflect the latest developments in mobile networks and applications, network technologies and satellite communications.

Visitors may attend conference sessions on trends in next-generation network applications, mobile content and applications, mobile opportunities in China’s telecoms sector and its impact on the global telecom market.

EnterpriseIT focuses on enterprise technology and targets enterprises that deliver IT solutions in security management, open source software, system integration, e-learning, data warehousing, storage systems, outsourcing services, business intelligence and enterprise resource planning, among other aspects.

A dedicated buyers and sellers’ platform has been created for the enterprise segment, targeted at visitors from industries such as banking and finance, manufacturing, government, healthcare and telecoms.

Together, CommunicAsia and EnterpriseIT will offer exhibitors and visitors a vast variety of IT solutions.

Key international exhibitors at CommunicAsia and EnterpriseIT include Arianespace, Cascade, Ericsson, Emerson, France Telecom, Fujitsu, Inmarsat, Intelsat, LG Electronics, Lucent Technologies, NetScreen, Polycom, Samsung, Shin Satellite, Siemens, Sanyo Electric, Sony, Telekom Malaysia and Telephone Organization of Thailand.

Meanwhile, BroadcastAsia2004 will serve as a launch pad for the latest high-tech production and post-production technology from the electronic media industry.

Visitors will be exposed to various products and services in motion pictures, special effects and animation, multimedia, audio equipment, interactive TV systems, automation equipment, sound effects and more under the sub-shows CableSat, ProfessionalAudio Technology and ComGraphics & Animation.

Filipino companies with strong capabilities in animation can showcase their innovative talent at BroadcastAsia.

The leading exhibitors include Panasonic, Leitch, Dolby, Discreet, Seachange, Miranda, Microsoft TV, Inscriber, Viaccess and Barco.

For the first time, the show will include a Digital Cinema Day on June 16. Facility visits to one of Eng Wah’s digital cinemas at Suntec and movie screenings are just a few of the activities lined up on Digital Cinema Day.

Visitors can also attend important talks at the Asian D-Cinema Summit on June 16, which will add a new dimension to the event by drawing attention to key issues in the distribution and operation processes of digital cinema in Asia.

A number of companies will showcase cutting-edge digital cinema technologies. Here, cinema operators, distributors, production and post-production houses can find the right tools for their transition to digitization and realize the business benefits and efficiency of digitization.

The Infocomm Media Business Exchange (imbX) is Asia’s largest infocomm and media business platform that brings together business leaders, companies and industry professionals to showcase their latest innovations, network, exchange ideas and tap new markets.

ImbX is jointly organized by the Singapore Exhibition Services (SES) and the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF), and hosted by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA).
