Islacom recently launched a new mobile service in the market called "Touch Mobile." The S200 GSM phone will feature customized Touch Mobile software.
Ana Singson, vice president for marketing of Islacom, said: "By bringing the Sendo S200 to the Philippine market, we offer our customers a totally new concept of mobile phones. We are confident that the Sendo S200 phone will appeal to a lot of consumers, particularly the youth market, because of its customizable features and appealing form which capture their individualism."
Sendos S200 is a very small (89 cc) and light (98 g) mobile phone. It offers excellent features from 2.5 to 3.5 hours of talk time and 170 to 360 hours of standby time and has a unique design: the front and back covers are changeable.
The phone offers T9 predictive text input for writing quick SMS messages, has 54 unique SMS "Smileys," downloadable ringer tones and a ring tone composer, all of which can be shared with others via SMS.
"This agreement with Islacom is a milestone for Sendo in the Philippines," said Mike Sedgwick, vice president for Asia-Pacific of Sendo. "Islacom has a large network of retail stores and a sophisticated distribution network. This will firmly establish Sendos presence in the Philippines and broadens Sendos entry in the Asian market."
The S200 phone also features four challenging games Scizzors, Flippit, Quaddro and Splash. All of its functions are accessible through a simple and engaging user interface, featuring an animated phone character.
Up to 200 phonebook memories can be stored in the SIM card (SIM dependent), using either multitap or T9 predictive text input for name entry.
The call list can include 30 missed, answered and dialed calls and text messages can be sent from the phonebook.
Islacom is backed by the Ayala Corp., Singapore Telecom and Deutsche Telekom, and its Touch Mobile service offers easy technology through voice services such as Voice Info and Voice Messaging. The network also offers easy connection via over 1,400 cell sites nationwide.
